National SME Development Forum 2018

We are happy to announce that on June 26, 2018 the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and EU4Business|FORBIZ Project launches its Second Annual “National SME Development Forum 2018”. This event will bring together over 500 SMEs, business support organizations, as well as, the representatives from the Government, international donor community and financial institutions, making it the biggest national event spearheading the development and growth of SMEs in Ukraine.  

Join the Forum to meet the international projects supporting SMEs and financial institutions and discuss your business perspectives as well as possibilities of support for your business growth with the experts! Learn about EU tools and support mechanisms for business development and discover the financial instruments for SMEs by the banking sector at the advisory stand area! Participate in plenary sessions and various workshops, featuring engaging keynote speakers and SME experts who will provide their tips, suggestions and share their experience in creating successful business models during open discussion. This is your opportunity to create a network of unique, targeted contacts at the Forum’s marketplace and strengthen chances for development of successful business!

The Forum, following adopted vector of the SME Strategy, is taking place at the backdrop of the new economic policy of the Government. This economic policy of Ukraine brings more focus on SMEs and, together with continuous assistance of international community and financial institution within the country, provides new impetus for SME empowerment, aiming to tap into entrepreneurial potential in the country. By sharing best practices and solutions to current challenges, the “National SME Development Forum 2018” will look how to enhance the support policy and programmes for entrepreneurship development through improved coordination mechanism among the key stakeholders to stimulate vibrant and prosperous SME sector in the country. The Forum is taking place within the framework of European SME Week – a pan-European campaign that aims to promote entrepreneurship in Europe.

 *About organizers: 

  • Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) is the largest business association in Ukraine, representing SMEs through its 25 regional chambers of commerce. UCCI is a major conduit of the dialogue between the businesses and the policy makers in Ukraine. UCCI works closely with international partners and supports international business development, promotes export promotion activities and foreign direct investment. 
  • Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (MEDT)is the key driver of the formation and implementation of state economic development policies. By spearheading the SME Development Strategy, it works towards the development of SME policy, better business environment and strengthening the infrastructure to support businesses in Ukraine. 
  • The FORBIZ Project within the EU4Business initiative is an international TA project, funded by the European Union supports Ukraine’s reform agenda and its economic recovery by proposing a systemic, smart change to business-friendly environment in the country with particular focus on SMEs. The Project supports the policy shift of the Government of Ukraine to greater recognition of small and medium businesses and the vital role they play in economic recovery.
