Ukrainian-Greek Round Table: New Horizons for Cooperation in the Energy and Business Sectors

25.02.2026

The Ukrainian–Greek Round Table took place in Kyiv, focusing on strengthening economic cooperation between Ukraine and Greece, particularly in the energy sector.

The event was organised by the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 20 February 2026, with the support of the Embassy of Greece in Ukraine and leading Ukrainian energy companies.

Gennadiy Chizhikov, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a welcome speech to the participants, highlighting the importance of Greece’s solidarity with Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

“Greece not only provides humanitarian, technical and defence assistance but also actively supports Ukrainian businesses. Our countries are connected not only by bilateral trade but also centuries-old cultural and historical connections, which are now transforming into real cooperation,” said the President.

The Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece for Ukraine, Spyridon Lambridis, emphasized the readiness of Greek businesses to invest in the Ukrainian economy and participate in the country’s reconstruction.

The event was attended by representatives of the Greek delegation, including:

  • Spyridon (Spiros) Lambridis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Special Representative of Greece for Ukraine;
  • Dimitrios Psarris, Secretary for Economic and Commercial Affairs;
  • Stathis Natsis, Executive Director of GEK TERNA Group;
  • Konstantinos Zaimis, Business Development Manager at VIOHALCO Group;
  • Georgios Polemis, Chief Executive Officer of DP PUMPS;
  • Yiannis Kyriakopoulos, Chief Executive Officer of Piraeus Bank in Ukraine.

On the Ukrainian side, the participants included the leadership of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as representatives of Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, and other leading companies.

“Ukraine is not only rebuilding — we are modernizing and transforming our economy. Greece can become a reliable partner in this process,” concluded Hennadii Chyzhykov.

Trade turnover between the countries has increased more than fourfold since 2019 — from USD 0.58 billion to USD 2.46 billion in 2024.

Key promising areas of cooperation:

  • Energy and renewable energy sources;
  • Infrastructure projects and reconstruction;
  • Maritime industry, ports, and logistics;
  • Agro-industrial complex and food industry;
  • Innovation, IT, and digital transformation;
  • Tourism and healthcare.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine invited their Greek colleagues to visit Ukraine to meet representatives from other sectors of the economy and see firsthand the real opportunities available for investors.
